First Adoration Boom Sizzle of 2013-2014!

Watermark has begun! And after a couple weeks of regular Boom Sizzle, we are coming up on our first Adoration Boom Sizzle of the year, which will be tomorrow/Saturday (10/5). What that means is that Boom Sizzle will still be from 7:30PM-10:00PM, but the schedule will be modified to allow Watermark to participate in Eucharistic Adoration.

For those of you who are new to Adoration (or need a reminder), Eucharistic Adoration is a tradition of the Catholic Church that dates back for centuries. And it is essentially a time where the Eucharist is exposed and the faithful get to come before Christ present in the Eucharist to pray, adore, and simply be with our Lord.

Blessed John Paul II and monstrance

In his encyclical letter Ecclesia De Eucharistia (Church from the Eucharist), Blessed John Paul II quotes St. Alphonsus Liguori, who said of Adoration:

Of all devotions, that of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the greatest after the sacraments, the one dearest to God and the one most helpful to us.

To have such a personal time with God in which we can take a break from our busyness and just be still before Him (Ps 46:11) is a powerful and beautiful thing.

And so we hope you can join us in this night of praying, adoring, and being with Christ who is present before us in the Eucharist!
